10. London Eye
The London Eye, or Millenium Wheel is one of the most famous attractions in London and was inaugurated in 2000. You won’t be disappointed by this stunning view of London and its monuments such as Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace.
Tips: The best time to enjoy this stunning view is probably in the evening during the sunset and when the night lights start to pop up.
Opening hours: open every day from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM in May.
Price: from £22.45 (vouchers to get a reduced price can be found on some packs of cereals).
9. Tower Bridge
You can also walk on the glass floor of one of the most famous bridges in the world. 42 meters above the River Thames, enjoy a unique experience with an amazing view of the bridge. Then, you can visit the engine rooms.
Opening hours: from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, from April to September.
Price: an adult ticket is £9,80 but you can have a reduced price if you book online.
8. Tate Modern
If you want to have a drink with a view of St Paul’s and the Millennium Bridge, let’s go to the Tate Modern’s Café, the modern and contemporary art museum.
Opening hours: from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Sunday to Thursday and from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Price: the entry of the museum is free but the exhibitions are not.
7. Radio Rooftop Bar
The Radio Rooftop Bar is located on the 10th floor of the ME Hotel and offers a view of the most emblematic monuments of London. Let’s enjoy a drink or take a brunch on one of the trendiest rooftop of London. It’s better to book in advance if you want to have a table.
Opening hours: from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM Monday to Wednesday, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM Thursday to Saturday and from 12:00 PM to 00:00 on Sunday.
You can also enjoy the terrace of the Rumpus Room which is located on the roof of the Mondrian’s Hotel. You can have a drink with a stunning view of St Paul’s Cathedral. It’s better to book in advance if you want to have a table. The entrance to the terrace is between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
5. Emirates Air Line Cable Car
What about a tour in a cable car? You can board from the Greenwich Peninsula and cross the River Thames to Royal Victoria Docks. The flight duration is about 10 minutes and there are departures every 30 seconds. You can use your Oyster Card and the “Pay as you go” to get a reduced price.
Opening hours: until the 20th June, it’s open from 7:00 AM to 10 PM Monday to Thursday, 7:00AM-11:00 PM on Friday, 08:00AM-11:00 PM on Saturday and 09:00AM-10:00 PM on Sunday. On bank holidays, you have to refer to the Saturday’s opening hours.
Price: a return ticket is £7 for an adult if you book online (£9 otherwise).
4. Alexandra Palace
The park around Alexandre Palace will allow you to enjoy the sun with a panoramic viewpoint on London. There are also a lot of activities such as golf, trees climbing and you will enjoy the lake, the ice rink and the skate-park. You have to pay for those activities and the prices can be found here.
3. Primrose Hill
After having a look at Camden Market, head towards Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill to enjoy a panoramic viewpoint on London. Then, you can bask in the sun or go to London Zoo which is located down the hill.
2. The Shard
The view from the Shard is one of the most impressive of London as it’s the highest viewing platform in the capital and has 360-degree views. It’s possible to book tickets online.
Price: if you book online, the price of a ticket is £26,95 and students can have a £6 discount.
You can also go to one of the bars or restaurants of the Shard such as Aqua Shard or Oblix and have a drink on the 31st or 32nd floors of the Shard. It allows you to have a stunning view of London and the price of a drink is around £10.
Finally, the view from the Skygarden is breath-taking and this urban garden is on the roof of the Walkie Talkie Tower. You will see London has never before in this atypical venue.
