Saint PATRICK’S DAY is coming
You’ve been waiting a year for this… and it’s finally here ! An excuse to drink beers all day long!
First at all we will start with a little bit of history and then we will give you our addresses to spend a perfect week-end in London on Paddy’s day!
St. Patrick’s Day 2018 occurs on Saturday, March 17, in observance of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and a whole lot of green.
Symbolised around the world by shamrocks, pints and bright-green parades, contemporary St Patrick’s Day celebrations often hide the mysteries and meaning behind the ancient figure.
Where can we celebrate it?
Even thougt this day isn’t a bank holiday in England, every year, a parade takes place with fanfares, street theater and so on. All Irish committees are represented: participants are dressed in the traditional colors of each county. This free festival occurs in Trafalgar Square. This is a good opportunity to enjoy traditional music and dances, as well as their food (and beer especially, we know how you are!).
This festival is celebrated throughout the city, in all the bars and pubs, and during the all weekends! The party doesn’t take place only on the 17th, but from the 16th to the 18th of March!
We will now give you the perfect program to spend an amazing weekend
To start, friday night we organise a afterwork from 6pm until late at The Lockside in Camden, a good opportunity to meet people!
Then on Saturday, you should go at Trafalguar Square for midday to watch the parade.
Once the parade over, it will be time to have a drink ! The majority of the irish pubs are around Fleet Street, in Soho. Make a stop at Tipperary, the oldest irish pub in London. Then go to Coach & Horses in Coven Garden if you like busy pubs.
If you can, try the bangers and mash or Irish stew with (of course) a pint of Guinness!
