Museum of Childhood

Located only a minute from Bethnal Green tube station, the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood has many galleries which will get you back in your childhood : the moving toys gallery, the creativity gallery, the childhood galleries…

It currently has an exhibition of wonderful doll’s houses, offering a miniature insight to how our houses have changed over the centuries. You can also enjoy the “Alice Look” exhibition, where you can get a whole new view of Lewis Carroll’s heroine in this display marking the 150th anniversary of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The museum has a wealth of objects relating to aspects of childhood including home, childcare, play, learning and clothing. And of course, it has a vast collection of toys through the centuries which is immensely interesting to anyone who was once a child !
